I have to hand it to Olivier Zahm: he has his finger on the pulse. While other magazines are losing readership, he uses the Internet to an almost perfect degree to promote the Purple Fashion magazine. Of course, the title itself is perfectly poised to take advantage of the blurring lines between nudity and fashion. We’re constantly told that print is dead, but Purple Fashion is far from it, and the 12th issue is on the way.
Naturally, with Zahm’s ability to market all things Purple previews abound of the next issue. Odd behind-the-scenes shots, pictures of people perusing the issue before it hits the shelves, and a naked model in stay ups hanging uncomfortably over another naked model in over the knee boots. So decadent is the world of Purple that, despite its fetish/bondage context, such a photo shoot is actually constructed as a jewellery feature.
