Ben Hopper’s Naked Girls with Masks
Ben Hopper is a mask-ermind! ‘Naked Girls with Masks’ is the latest project by this hotter-than-wasabi up-and-coming London-based fine art photographer, which features over ten different stunning, nude models wearing surprising, comical, and sometimes grotesque full-head masks.
You’ve heard of masked balls…but these shots are all about masked boobies! Yet in addition to being undeniably sexual, they’re also playful, disturbing, and thought-provoking: a parody of the way in which human beings usually present themselves, they beg the question – why do we reveal our faces, yet hide our bodies from view? And what happens when that arrangement is turned on its (masked) head?

Record Separator by Phil Hale
Five Hundred Dollars is pleased to present Record Separator, a new series of paintings by Phil Hale. Hale is one of the most compelling and unpredictable painters working in Britain today. His work has been largely concerned with the struggle to integrate form and abstraction into psychologically powerful and coherent forms.
The struggle to develop and move forward can require an artist to let go of substantial portions of their practice. It is only this destabilization that allows progress, a necessary loss of control and orientation. The strength of these new paintings is their willingness to operate on the verge of collapse.
Hale was Born in America in 1963, and studied under Richard Berry, before moving to Britain.
